Candidate Responsibilities The Cyber Security Specialist (GRC) is responsible for managing and improving the customer’s security governance, risk management and compliance framework. This role ensures adherence to Defence security regulatory requirements, develops security policies that meet business objectives, conducts regular risk assessments and implements controls to protect customer digital assets. Critical Responsibilities Develop and enforce security policies, standards and frameworks as per regulatory requirements. Perform regular security audits. Identify cyber security risks and implement security controls. Vulnerability management and threat detection. Security event log monitoring. Develop and maintain the Cyber Security Assessment and Authorization (Accreditation) documentation suite. Assess security control effectiveness. Knowledge & Skill Requirement Bachelor’s degree in cyber security / information technology or related experience. 5+ years’ experience in cyber security risk management, policy development or governance. Strong knowledge of security audit, documentation development, vulnerability management and security event monitoring. Industry certifications such as CISA, ISO Lead Implementer/auditor or similar are desirable. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with keen attention to detail. Security Requirements As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for a SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
