his is an exciting opportunity to join the Strategy and Productivity Team in the newly formed Infrastructure Division. You will be working on workforce strategy and productivity reform at a critical time in the delivery of Victoria’s infrastructure pipeline. The Workforce Strategy team is progressing a number of important initiatives designed to alleviate workforce shortages, working with a range of government and industry stakeholdersThe Department of Treasury and Finance provides economic, financial and resource management advice to help the Victorian Government deliver its policies. We strive for excellence in financial and economic management to improve the lives of all Victorians.Strategy and Productivity TeamThe Strategy and Productivity team is focused on identifying productivity opportunities in order to improve the delivery of infrastructure projects in Victoria.Key focus areas for identifying productivity opportunities include materials and market capacity, workforce strategy and culture.The team works across government departments and agencies, and with industry, to design and deliver policy reforms.About the roleThis is an exciting opportunity to join the Strategy and Productivity Team in the newly formed Infrastructure Division. You will be working on workforce strategy and productivity reform at a critical time in the delivery of Victoria's infrastructure pipeline. The Workforce Strategy team is progressing a number of important initiatives designed to alleviate workforce shortages, working with a range of government and industry stakeholders.Reporting to the Senior Manager, Workforce Strategy, this role:Undertakes research and coordinates the development and implementation of initiatives relating to workforce and productivity within the construction sector.Provides expert advice, supports and feedback on workforce initiatives and policies that support improvements in the efficient and effective delivery of Victoria's major projects.Contributes to strategic policy projects and policy analysis relating to productivity improvements for the construction sector, with a particular focus on workforce reform.Monitors and reports on priority issues, risks, trends and prepare and present reports, ministerial briefings, Cabinet documents and other submissions.Builds and maintains productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders from government departments and agencies, as well as industry, to facilitate the achievement of outcomes.Contributes to the Infrastructure Division's strategic planning and reporting activities, including building Infrastructure Division's reputation as a centre of excellence about major project delivery and skills.About youWe are seeking applications from candidates with demonstrable experience in:Technical CapabilitiesPolicy skills with a demonstrated ability to design and develop policy, drawing on data, evidence and research, and successfully navigating government budget processes.A track record of coordinating projects so they are delivered to time and budget, including coordinating procurement and contract management of external suppliers.Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience related to workforce reform and productivity and keeping up to date with key issues and scanning for links, risks and opportunities.Interpersonal capabilitiesInterpersonal skills – Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as a senior member of a project team, build relationships and work collaboratively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders at all organisational levels.Flexibility and adaptability – can plan and navigate a complex environment and work comfortably with ambiguity.Innovation and continuous improvement – integrate new ideas and concepts across diverse disciplines into new ways of thinking, working, or delivering solutions.Experience and qualificationsA tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Public Policy, Commerce, Organisational Development, Human Resources).Experience working with senior stakeholders in a complex environment.About our cultureWe aim to be a model employer providing an inclusive workplace that is understanding and respectful of differences such as gender, identity, race, disability or age.
