Description We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our high‑performance Professional Services team. This customer‑facing consulting position requires exceptional collaborative skills and the ability to build strong partnerships with our customers and within Datacom. About The Role (Your Why) Must be an Australian Citizen and have an NV1 security clearance. Previous Professional Services experience with external customers and exposure to all aspects of delivering projects, including consulting, design, configuration, testing and deployment, is required. Our offices are based in Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Perth. We support remote work to enable a healthy work/life balance. What You’ll Do Work closely with Customers, Partners, Sales and Technical teams. Ensure assigned IT infrastructure–based projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed scope. Serve as the technical point of contact for implementation services and solutions, whether remotely or on‑site. Provide pre‑sales support and expertise to the sales team. We are an agile company and are keen to respond to changing customer, technology and internal stakeholder requirements, which may evolve your role to meet those needs. What You’ll Bring To be successful in this role you must have experience working with external enterprise customers in delivering projects in professional services environments. Experience with design, implementation and optimisation of Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange. Experience with virtualization (VMWare, Hyper‑V, AHV). A curiosity and passion for customers and a proven ability to communicate solutions in a way that resonates with all levels of our customers. You must be comfortable engaging both technical and non‑technical staff and stakeholders. Ability to work independently on competing priorities and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Desirable: Design, implementation and optimisation experience in one or more of the following; Backup and recovery (e.g. Commvault, Veeam) Hyperconverged technologies (e.g. Nutanix, Dell, Cisco) Why Join Us Datacom is one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest suppliers of Information Technology professional services.
