Custodian

PURPOSE AND SCOPE Custodian is responsible for cleaning and preparing vacant properties within our housing portfolio to ensure they are maintained to a professional and presentable standard. This role plays a key part in supporting property readiness by delivering thorough cleaning services that meet company requirements and expectations. Working as part of a team, custodians ensure properties are hygienic, safe, and visually appealing for incoming tenants or inspections. The role requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork, with an emphasis on quality service. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct assigned custodial tasks within housing portfolio Mop/steam clean floors Steam clean carpets, lounges, armchairs, beds and other upholstered furniture Remove calcium scale build up in showers and bathrooms Dusting and cobweb removal Cleaning blemishes and marks on surfaces hi/lo Conduct all actions to ensure highly rated customer service is provided to customer(s) Maintain necessary cleaning supplies needed in provided transport (Van) Maintain and store all inventory of all supplies for custodial staff. Ensure, promote, and maintain health and safety practices/compliances at site and within the workplace Any other reasonable duties as requested QUALIFICATIONS Australian Citizen Certificate in Health Support Services Certificate Hospitality Field: Hospitality TICKETS AND LICENCES Drivers License Desirable CPR White Card Working at Heights First Aid EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS – Minimum Essential 1 to 3 years’ experience in hospitality/industrial Custodial industry WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines. Ability to lift items up to 10kgs independently The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will require a NV1 Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian) STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS All personnel assigned shall be: At least 18 years of age.
