Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Manager Shape the voice of a global leader in research and education. The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) is an independent, not‑for‑profit organisation with a proud history of driving positive change in education through research, policy, and innovation. We are seeking a dynamic Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Manager to lead our global communications strategy and strengthen ACER’s reputation as a trusted voice in education. Your mission: As the Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you will: Lead global communications to ensure ACER’s reputation and influence across all regions. Drive strategic stakeholder engagement, building relationships with government, policymakers, and education leaders. Oversee media relations, internal communications, and issues management, ensuring clarity, consistency, and impact. Partner with senior executives and the CEO to amplify ACER’s voice through speaking engagements and thought leadership. Manage and develop a high‑performing communications team, fostering collaboration and excellence. What We’re Looking For: Proven expertise in leading complex, multi‑site or global communications portfolios (10+ years). Strong track record in strategic communications, media relations, and stakeholder engagement at executive or government level. Exceptional ability to craft compelling narratives and influence diverse audiences. Experience in issues management and crisis communications. Leadership capability to coach and develop a global team. Postgraduate qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related discipline. What we offer: This is a full‑time, ongoing position based at any of ACER’s offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, or Perth. The commencing salary for this role is $170,730 per annum plus superannuation.
