About the Role You’ll be part of the Home Buying team, which is committed to creating a brighter future for all Australians by unlocking the dream of Home Ownership. This role involves end‑to‑end management of the bank’s home loan business, including distribution, acquisition, retention, customer experience, risk management, change, and ongoing improvement. Responsibilities Lead, promote continuous improvement, develop technical roadmaps, and improve the quality of technical solutions by implementing industry best practices. Work closely with other technical leaders and product owners to document new changes and drive various initiatives. Communicate well with squad members, providing technical guidance and mentoring to engineers. Be involved in all aspects of delivery from solution design and development to production rollout. What We’re Interested In Possesses full‑cycle engineering experience: ideation, technical design, build, testing (unit, integration, system), release, and ongoing maintenance. Collaborates with peers and helps grow capabilities within the squad and across the crew. Actively embraces and integrates AI‑driven solutions (including LLMs and agentic AI approaches) to enhance our engineering workflows and product capabilities. Provides technical governance and guidance throughout the complete solution delivery lifecycle. Works independently and drives a culture where quality, excellence and openness are championed. Is passionate about learning new tools and technologies and is constantly thinking outside the box. Designs, documents and implements solutions to distribute source system data via bulk interfaces. Contributes to complex delivery planning by providing guidance and oversight to ensure that technical deliveries are aligned with engineering direction and strategy. Has the ability to constructively challenge the status quo while influencing stakeholders at various levels. Technical Skills Full‑cycle design experience: design, build, challenge and run essential. Backend experience with .NET. Frontend experience with React.js or Next.js. Strong expertise with designing scalable microservices and APIs (GraphQL & REST). Knowledge of large‑scale distributed systems, solution design and architecture principles. Experience with modern cloud technology stacks (AWS preferred). Understanding of application and system security best practices. CI/CD tools: TeamCity, Jenkins, Octopus, GitHub Actions. Observability tools such as Splunk, Prometheus & Grafana. Non‑functional testing: automation testing, performance testing, accessibility testing. Containerization using Docker. Experience with Node.js, AI/ML is a plus.
