Acting Team Leader Child and Family Care Mackay

About the role selectability is seeking an acting team leader – child and family care Mackay from the 20 October 2025 to 02 November 2025. As acting team leader you will be responsible for leading a team of child and family care professionals to ensure the safety and well‑being of children and young people in our care. Our youth residential program provides intensive support to children and young people who have a variety of leaders overseeing house operations with a strengths‑based, person‑centred approach while maintaining a strong outcomes focus. Key responsibilities Overseeing the daily operations of the Child and Family Care services, including monitoring, managing and supporting a team of youth workers to maintain workplace health and safety checks, cleanliness of the property, managing positive behaviour support plans, and compliance checking. Ensuring that all team members are trained and up to date with relevant procedures and regulations. Providing support and guidance to employees when required. Reporting any concerns or incidents to the relevant manager. Providing exceptional customer service to all internal and external stakeholders. Maintaining professional boundaries at all times. Maintaining accurate and up to date records and documentation. Facilitating team meetings and professional development activities. Assisting children and young people in the development and delivery of their individual care plans and goals. Assisting and empowering children and young people in maintaining their environment. About you Possess clear and effective communication skills. Demonstrate computer literacy and accuracy in record management. Experience working in a team environment. Exhibit an ability to problem‑solve. Be able to follow policies and procedures at all times. Be able to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals. Must be available to be on call to provide support and assistance as required. Travel across selectability sites is required. Role requirements Minimum or equivalent of a Certificate IV in Child Youth and Family Intervention for Residential Care. A current minimum P1 C class Queensland driver’s licence. A currently registered road‑worthy and fully comprehensive vehicle. A Child Safety & Personal History Screening check. Current nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificates (or the ability to obtain). A Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain). NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain). NDIS Worker Orientation Module: Quality Safety & You.
