Our Defence client currently looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join their team on a medium term engagement. Australian Citizens with a Negative Vetting 1 clearance will be regarded for this role. This is your chance to make a difference in this contract ending EOFY 2026 with a potential for extension options. This is a unique opportunity to apply your deep understanding of ServiceNow to support the migration of workloads and data from on-prem to multi cloud environments. You will act as a conduit between business and project team in gathering business requirements and translating them into solutions that improve both business and user experiences in the Defence environment. As the technical business analyst, you will contribute to the preparation of a number of business analysis artefacts which together provide a comprehensive view of the current state processes and pain points, along with future state needs and benefits. Your primary responsibilities include: Capture and manage functional and non-functional requirements, including but not limited to migration to cloud, business processes and treatment options. Draft, document, prioritise and refine epics, features, and user stories, functional and non-functional requirements as required and seek validation from stakeholders. Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders in identifying, understanding the current state and target state business processes and seek validation on the acceptance criteria. Undertake follow-up discovery/requirement validation work at the direction of the project team Develop artefacts including but not limited to business requirements document, FAQs, Service transition related documents, operating model and other project deliverables. Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix right through to deployment. Lead and facilitate playback sessions when required and update the requirements document. Skills required for the role include: Experience in eliciting technical functional and non-functional requirements, including through facilitating requirement gathering workshops, reviewing existing business process artefacts and comparing with future state requirements to execute a gap analysis. Experience drafting, documenting and refining epics, features, and user stories, functional and non-functional requirements in an agile delivery methodology within technical projects (preferably ICT infrastructure and/or cloud migration projects). Cloud migration and implementation experience highly desirable. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, including engaging with, and communicating between, business and technical ICT stakeholders. Ability to manage own time and priorities independently and take direction as required. Ability to work in a collaborative manner internally within the Project team and with external stakeholders. Experience in the use of the ServiceNow platform. Proven ability to achieve outcomes under pressure; proactive approach and outstanding stakeholder management skills. Skills that are desirable for this opportunity include: Facilitation & negotiation: reconciling competing data definitions and survivorship rules. Risk management: clear assumptions, risks, and mitigations logged and maintained. Mentoring/knowledge transfer: enable internal team to rerun & support migrations.
