Job Overview Volunteer Centre Officer – Volunteer Centre Newcastle (VCN). Contract: fixed term until 31 July 2026, possibly extendable. Hours: 14 hours per week (potential to increase to 17.5 hours), salary: £25,625 full‑time equivalent (£10,250 for 14 hours). Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (hybrid – office, home, community based). Line manager: Project Manager, Newcastle. Start date: ASAP. Responsibilities Support charities, organisations and groups that employ volunteers by giving advice on volunteer engagement, helping create and promote volunteer roles, providing guidance on policies and processes, delivering training, participating in volunteer network forums, and solving problems when needed. Support people who wish to volunteer through one‑to‑one appointments and/or in‑person events, understanding their interests and goals, matching them with suitable volunteering opportunities, and offering information, advice and guidance.
