Site Engineer - Civil – CPB Contractors The Spark Consortium has been selected to deliver the Central Package of the North East Link Project – Victoria's biggest road project. The project includes twin three‑lane tunnels and key interchanges, delivering a missing link from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway. This reduces journey times and diverts heavy vehicles away from local roads, with up to 135,000 vehicles projected to use North East Link daily. Overview Exciting opportunity for a motivated Site Engineer to deliver civil infrastructure works, focusing on roadworks including drainage, earthworks, pavements and road furniture. The role involves managing daily site activities, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards, and maintaining quality control. Responsibilities Short-term planning and programming of works in conjunction with site supervision and subcontractors Ensure compliance of the works with technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards, and Spark Risk Management process Conduct and administer overall job planning and programming, including short-range and intermediate activities for construction projects for approval by the Project Manager Undertake cost controlling and estimating as required by the Site Manager Implement and communicate risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects Ensure sufficient resources are available to maintain environmental compliance and continuous improvement Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and ITPs Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow Maintain daily site records, progress reports, and QA/QC documentation Ensure compliance with WHS regulations and company policies Assist with preparing work methodologies, construction programs, and resource planning Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering Minimum Requirements Proven experience working road construction, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects Strong understanding of engineering, techniques, and applications Proficiency in project management software and tools Experience working with a Tier 1 contractor highly desirable Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail What We Offer Ongoing career support and development opportunities Generous parental leave Strong culture charter Quarterly social events Reward and recognition program Flexible working arrangements Competitive salary If this opportunity is of interest to you, please click the “Apply now” button to register your interest and please also subscribe to Job Alerts to be notified of upcoming opportunities.
