Location – Cessnock Correctional Complex Employment type – Ongoing (Full Time) Clerk grade 5/6. Salary $99,938 - $110, 270 plus employer’s superannuation and annual leave loading. Your role As a Case Management Officer, you will work directly with inmates in a custodial setting to support their rehabilitation and reduce reoffending. You’ll develop and implement person‑centred case plans using evidence‑based assessments and motivational interviewing techniques, helping individuals engage in meaningful behaviour change. By collaborating closely with Senior Case Management Officers and other stakeholders, you’ll ensure high‑quality, responsive case management services that adapt to changing needs. Successful applicants will be required to complete the following provided training: Attend operational training and attain Certificate IV in Correctional Practice in line with agency timeframes and/or requirements. Critical training in security, work safe procedures and other role specific training. What we’re looking for Experience and/or relevant qualifications in case management, human services, or related fields Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds who may be facing complex challenges, including family, social, or drug and alcohol‑related issues Strong organisational and self‑management skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Resilience and emotional intelligence to confidently navigate complex and sensitive situations within a custodial environment Excellent communication and written skills, with the motivation to make a genuine difference in people’s lives Download the role description.
