Role As the Assessment and Reporting Leader at Brauer College, this role encompasses a comprehensive array of responsibilities aimed at driving excellence in teaching, learning, and student outcomes. Reporting directly to the Assistant Principal, the Assessment and Reporting Leader plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape of the college. 1. Curriculum Leadership Lead the development and implementation of the teaching and learning program in alignment with DET standards and the Victorian Curriculum, ensuring high standards of engagement and achievement for all students. Disseminate curriculum policies and materials, facilitating routine evaluations to ensure accessibility and relevance. 2. Assessment and Reporting Oversight Lead the evaluation and enhancement of assessment and reporting policies, ensuring compliance with VCAA and DET requirements. Provide professional development for staff on assessment and reporting guidelines and tools such as Compass. Collaborate with Key Learning Area (KLA) Managers to develop differentiated, challenging, and aligned assessment tasks. 3. Professional Learning Facilitation Facilitate professional learning communities (PLCs) and mentor PLC Leaders and KLA Managers to embed effective teaching and learning practices aligned with the school's strategic priorities. Provide professional development opportunities to deepen staff understanding and implementation of evidence-based teaching strategies and assessment practices. 4. Student Learning Support Work with the Student Learning Leader to enhance student engagement and monitor educational performance. Liaise with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and support for students and parents / guardians. 5. Leadership and Management Play a leadership role within the college, overseeing the Student Learning / PLC Leader program. Implement strategic priorities outlined in the school's Strategic and Annual Implementation Plans, fostering inquiry and reflection for continuous improvement. 6. Collaboration and Communication Ensure effective communication with staff and community stakeholders. Collaborate with KLA leaders to embed changes resulting from PLC findings, including the Brauer College Instructional Model. Monitor and support the implementation of the school's reporting cycle and revision programs. 7. Professional Development and Accountability Support staff in promoting effective teaching practices and pedagogy, providing feedback and support as needed. Utilize student data to inform teaching and learning practices, shaping the future direction of the school and sustaining partnerships and networks. Reflect on and continuously enhance practice to improve student outcomes, aligning resources with desired goals. 8. Additional Duties Collaborate with the Assistant Principal and other stakeholders on various initiatives and projects as assigned. Ensure compliance with child safe standards and undertake other duties as directed by the Principal. Responsibilities In recognition of the importance of leadership and management combined with exemplary teaching practice for improved student learning outcomes, the key roles of the leading teachers may include but are not limited to : Leading and managing the implementation of whole-school improvement initiatives related to the school strategic plan and school priorities Leading and managing the implementation of whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery; Leading and managing the provision of professional development and developing individual and team development plans for teaching staff within the priorities of the school; Leading and managing staff performance and development (review of staff); Teaching demonstration lessons; Leading and managing the development of the school's assessment and reporting policies and practices; Leading and managing the implementation of the school operations and policies related to student welfare and discipline; Leading the development of curriculum in a major learning area and participating in curriculum development in other areas; Responsibility for general discipline matters beyond the management of classroom teachers; Contributing to the overall leadership and management of the school; Contributing to the development of proposals for school council consideration; Developing and managing the school code of conduct. Who May Apply Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and / or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
