Pacific Labour Welfare Officer - Ballina, NSW Health Plus People is seeking a Welfare Officer to join our team for 5 hours a week in Ballina, NSW. This critical role will be responsible for providing support and welfare services to Pacific Island workers engaged in our Allied Health Services. As a Pacific Labour Welfare Officer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the wellbeing and integration of our overseas workforce, contributing to the overall success of our operations. What you'll be doing Providing comprehensive welfare and support to Pacific Island workers, including accommodation inspections, vehicle inspections and accessing community services Organizing and facilitating cultural, social, and recreational activities to help workers maintain their wellbeing and connection to their home communities Serving as the primary point of contact for workers, addressing any issues or concerns Maintaining detailed records and reporting on the welfare and support services provided to workers What we’re looking for Demonstrated experience in a similar community development or welfare support role, preferably with a focus on supporting migrant or multicultural communities Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse groups of people Cultural sensitivity and understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by Pacific Island workers Excellent problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations and find practical solutions Strong administrative skills, with an intermediate knowledge of Excel Proficiency in one or more Pacific Island languages would be highly advantageous A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel within the local region as required What we offer At Health Plus People, we are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive work environment that empowers our employees to thrive.
