2nd (Australian) Division Welfare Officer The 2nd (Australian) Division Welfare Officer is responsible for the governance of health and wellbeing activities in direct support of Army capabilities. The Division Welfare Officer is to use their skills, knowledge and experience to provide advice and services for a range of complex corporate, administration and business activities. Responsibilities Deliver the 2nd (Australian) Division welfare plan across the brigades and direct command units; Oversee the management of medallic recognition and commendations across the Division; Perform tasks that support the delivery of welfare outcomes across the Division; Independently identify and interpret relevant legislation, policies, strategies, business and team requirements, and apply these to the work area. About our Team The Headquarters commands both the Army’s 2nd (Australian) Division (2 (AS) DIV) which consists of approximately 11,000 soldiers, and Joint Task Force 629 (JTF 629), which is responsible for leading domestic operations. The G1 (Personnel) Branch is the hub of all personnel management and administration for the command. It is a dynamic and often changing environment which deals with recruiting, retention, APS workforce management, personnel policy and advice for the command. It has frequent contact with the brigades and units within the division as well as dealing with Army HQ, Defence Force Recruiting and other external stakeholders. Ideal Candidate A successful candidate would be adaptable in their approach to work, pragmatic in problem‑solving, work well in a small team environment and be comfortable dealing with a wide array of external stakeholders. They would have a strong understanding or ability to develop an understanding of relevant policies and IT systems, and be willing to learn. Eligibility Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Negative Vetting Level 1”.
