Overview Change the trajectory of Aboriginal young people on the Central Coast Tripling in size – take the lead on a critical evolving program Salary packaging options, extra leave days, and a role with true purpose Lead the change on the trajectory of young Aboriginal people on the Central Coast. And do it sustainably, respectfully, and at a pace that actually works for them. Bara Barang is the Central Coast’s only local community led Aboriginal organisation focused on skilling, training and long-term employment. They’re trusted because they’re Aboriginal-led, community-driven, and values-first. Community members actively prefer working with them over big-city providers. That’s the environment you’re stepping into. And they do it properly. No rushing, no box-ticking, no “just give it a go and hope for the best”. The Make Tomorrow in Manufacturing program is growing fast. Tripling in size thanks to a $4.5M funding deed. And now they need a Program Manager who can bring structure, leadership, cultural safety, and a whole lot of heart to a team doing genuinely meaningful work. Demand has exploded. Their employer partnerships are growing. And young people – many vulnerable, many disengaged – are actively coming to Bara Barang for support. And aside from having a role with purpose, you’ll be rewarded with a salary of $100k–$120k plus salary packaging, so your take-home pay lands higher than you’d expect. Add three extra days of leave each year, and suddenly life feels a bit lighter. You’ll have autonomy, flexibility, and the backing of leaders who’ve been here for years and genuinely walk the talk. No micromanagement. Just clarity and trust. There’s real development, proper support, and access to company vehicles for the on-the-ground work you’ll do. And you’ll be part of a values-led organisation that’s growing fast. Responsibilities Lead the program and team across two streams: Skilling and Employment, embedding structure and consistency in a rapidly growing program. Ensure workplaces are culturally safe by building employer relationships, guiding onboarding, and supporting participant success. Drive performance within government compliance while fostering empathy, flexibility, and a supportive team culture. Connect participants, employers, community, and government, acting as the central link between all stakeholders. Qualifications Experience managing government-funded programs (employment, training, youth, Indigenous, or similar). Strong people leadership: coaching, performance management, and clarity. Comfortable with compliance, reporting, and government databases. Skilled at balancing operational detail with strategic oversight. Calm, strengths-based approach with vulnerable young people and respect for cultural safety. Current driver’s licence + WWCC (or willing to obtain). Ideally, experience in employment services, job-readiness, recruitment, or training. Benefits Salary of $100k–$120k plus salary packaging. Three extra days of leave each year. Autonomy, flexibility, and no micromanagement. Access to company vehicles for on-the-ground work. Supportive team culture and professional development.
