Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (History of Philosophy) Australian Catholic University – North Sydney NSW Job No: APTAV #005 Join the vibrant and research-intensive National School of Philosophy within ACU's large and dynamic Faculty of Theology and Philosophy Contribute to a growing coursework program that values the history and the present of philosophical thought ACU offers 17% employer superannuation, salary packaging and generous leave provisions Full time, continuing role based at one of the listed campuses (by negotiation) About the role: Operating within the National School of Philosophy, the Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (History of Philosophy) provides high quality teaching in the School's philosophy program, undertakes quality research and publication in the History of Philosophy (and adjunct areas), and undertakes external engagement and internal service. Candidate applications are welcome from specialists in any era of the History of Philosophy. Responsibilities: Contribute to curriculum development of undergraduate and/or post-graduate units in the School of Philosophy in a variety of modes ranging from face-to-face classes to synchronous and asynchronous online delivery. Teach across key aspects of the history of philosophy, and history and philosophy of science, at least to an undergraduate level. Contribute to the supervision of Honours and Higher Degree (including PhD) students in areas of philosophical expertise. Contribute high-quality research and publish in the History of Philosophy with highly-ranked international journals and book publishers, and seek external funding for research projects. Undertake coursework and administration and other School-based service efficiently and collegially. Engage in community and stakeholder engagement initiatives, as appropriate. Demonstrate a strong understanding of the University's Catholic Identity and Mission and how it applies to academic work by contributing to the integration of principles of social justice, the pursuit of truth and care for the common good in all areas of academic activity relevant to the Teaching and Research Academic Pathway. Total remuneration valued to $178,482 - $193,772 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $151,018 - $164,087 (pro rata) pa (Senior Lecturer - Academic Level C), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff. Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
