Base Pay Range A$80.00/hr - A$100.00/hr Recruitment Consultant | ICT & Business Support Services | Security Cleared Specialist Technical Business Analyst – Data & MDM About the client Our client is a major enterprise focused on delivering robust data management and governance solutions for large-scale banking projects. This role is pivotal in supporting data-driven initiatives and ensuring high standards of data quality and integrity. About the role We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst with strong Master Data Management (MDM) skills and expertise in data profiling, data lineage, and data classification. You’ll play a key role in data analysis, requirements gathering, mapping, and supporting data modelling and governance processes. Key Responsibilities Conduct in-depth data analysis and requirements gathering for data-related solutions. Prepare mapping and business requirements documents (BRD), leveraging data lineage and data profiling knowledge. Understand and document data transformation logic within data flows, with strong knowledge of Data Lake and basic Big Data skills. Support data modelers in preparing logical and physical data models, applying data modelling concepts. Communicate effectively with stakeholders and facilitate workshops, meetings, and governance discussions. Ensure adherence to data governance processes for each project. Design and implement data mapping between source and target systems, ensuring accurate transformation and integrity. Collaborate with developers and data engineers to validate data pipelines and ensure seamless integration. Identify and resolve data quality issues and discrepancies through root‑cause analysis. Required Experience Strong understanding of data mapping and transformation, data profiling, data lineage, data modelling, and data classification concepts. Experience in data analysis, requirements gathering, and technical problem‑solving. Knowledge of data modelling concepts (e.g., SCD type 1, type 2 tables, different types of models and databases). Basic understanding of Hive, Hadoop ecosystem, and Big Data skills. Experience in banking domain projects is highly desirable. Experience as a Data Technical Analyst. Stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills. Quality assurance and testing experience for data solutions. What’s on offer?
