QEHS Coordinator

QEHS Coordinator - Victoria or Tasmania Location Comstar Systems is a full-service Australian telecommunications company, our head office is based in Goodwood, with branches located in Southern and Northern Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia. We pride ourselves on providing turnkey solutions in telecommunications and broadcasting. The Role We currently have a full-time opportunity for an experienced QEHS Coordinator. This operational role is responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety (QEHS) policies, overseeing the integrated QEHS management system, and ensuring all related functions comply with legal and ethical standards while supporting operational efficiency and business objectives. This role can be based in Victoria or Tasmania, reimbursement of relocation costs will be considered. Key Responsibilities Determine suitable QEHS material is developed and maintained. Develop, review and maintain SWMS in alignment with organisational operations and Australian Standards. In addition, consult with Project Managers, field staff and clients on the implementation and compliance of SWMS. Liaise with Project Managers as required to ensure new projects have all compliance requirements identified in advance. Coordinate QEHS committee meetings, draft minutes and in accordance with company procedures and the WHS Act. Maintain data quality and accuracy of company compliance records within the companies internal systems. Advise and assist management with QEHS matters and actively participate in problem solving and implementation of solutions. Actively promote a safe workplace through positive daily engagement with the workforce. Participate in and contribute to QEHS discussions in Pre-Start Meetings and Toolbox Talks. Liaise with Project Managers as required to ensure new projects have all compliance requirements identified in advance. Conduct regular workplace inspections and desktop audits to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement. Conduct investigations into identified or reported safety risks, incident and provide reports. Qualifications and Experience Cert IV in WHS is desirable Detail-oriented with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 and it's associated programs. Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and codes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Proven ability to foster and drive a positive safety culture. Keen problem-solving and analytical skills. Accountability, reliability, and strong attention to detail.
