Overview Well known, growing and top tooling financial services firm. Melbourne based, 3 days in the office, reporting to the CISO. Salary: $180k-$200k + Super. About the role As the Principal Cyber Security Engineer, you will act as the technical authority for security engineering in collaboration with the cloud and infrastructure team. This is not a role where you are told what to do but asked for your expertise and the business will do everything they can to support you. This business is a well known Australian business and can advance someone’s career. Where others backfill a role, this one will be a crucial pillar within the business Key responsibilities Leading the response to complex and high-impact cyber security incidents across the organisation Defining and driving cyber security strategy, standards, policies, and best practices aligned with regulatory and business requirements Implement, and continuously improve security controls across systems, networks, and applications Acting as the highest technical escalation point for cyber security engineering matters Driving organisation-wide uplift in cyber security maturity through assessments, audits, training, and advanced security technologies About you 7+ years' experience in senior cyber security roles, ideally within a regulated or financial services environment Strong hands-on experience in Cloud Security (Azure preferred), Active Directory, Linux/UNIX, networking, and PowerShell scripting Expertise with SIEM platforms (Splunk preferred), PAM solutions, firewalls/WAF, and some application security Infra as code experience is a must Proven capability leading incident response and managing multiple priorities in high-pressure scenarios Excellent communication skills, a strong customer-service mindset, and the ability to engage effectively with non-technical stakeholders Only PR holders or Aus citizens Melbourne based will be considered for this role.
