Our industry partner, Sorbello's Restaurant, has been serving the Mackay community since 1996, offering authentic Italian cuisine in a welcoming dine‑in setting. Located in the heart of the Mackay CBD at 166 Victoria Street, Mackay QLD 4740, the restaurant is family‑owned and operated, known for delivering high‑quality meals made from fresh ingredients. Sorbello’s also offers one of the region’s most extensive wine selections, complemented by cocktails, beer, and spirits, creating a complete and memorable dining experience. We are seeking a Skilled and Experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team on a full‑time, fixed‑term contract for 3 months (non‑ongoing). This role is essential in overseeing restaurant operations, maintaining service quality, supervising staff, and ensuring the overall guest experience aligns with Sorbello’s long‑standing standards and Italian dining heritage. Duties and Responsibilities Design and curate innovative menus in collaboration with chefs, incorporating seasonal produce and catering to customer preferences. Plan and coordinate special events and functions, ensuring flawless execution and memorable guest experiences. Direct procurement operations and negotiate supplier contracts to secure cost‑effective, high‑quality products within budget parameters. Oversee and maintain accurate records of inventory levels and financial transactions to support effective resource management. Uphold compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, maintaining dining facilities that are clean, fully functional, and visually appealing. Engage with guests to assess satisfaction, gather feedback, and implement service enhancements. Recruit, train, and lead front‑of‑house and kitchen staff, cultivating a high‑performance, customer‑focused team.
