City of Melbourne, Österreich Lucky Robots Vollzeit

Software Engineer (C++) – Core/Game Engine Direct message the job poster from Lucky Robots Lucky Robots is building the world’s first “Game Engine for Robotics” – a real-time 3D simulation and training platform where AI learns to move, manipulate, and understand the physical world. Our goal is to make large-scale robot training and testing environments accessible and fast. If we’re being honest, we’re looking for someone who truly lives and breathes game engine development – someone ready to push beyond games and tackle everything from physics to rendering. The kind of person who thinks in data, asking, “if this robot in the sim were plugged into a computer with a usb cable, would the output be identical?” — and then makes it identical. As an early engineer on this team, you’ll have the chance to shape the core architecture and design systems of the engine itself. We move quickly, experiment often, and value people who enjoy solving complex problems in a fast‑paced, collaborative startup environment where ideas become reality fast. We’re looking for an experienced C++ Software Engineer to join our Core Technology team, working on the foundational systems that power our in‑house robotics simulation engine. You probably know our CTO, The Cherno, Yan Chernikov, who you will be reporting to at this position Check out his post here: Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain various systems in our custom robotics game engine Write clean, efficient, and maintainable C++ code, with a strong focus on performance and reliability Review designs and code from peers to ensure high technical standards across the team Optimize engine subsystems for stability, scalability, and runtime efficiency Collaborate with other engineers and disciplines (AI, simulation, physics, graphics) to integrate new features and improve the developer experience Contribute to architectural discussions and share technical insights that shape the evolution of the engine Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field 5+ years of professional experience in modern C++ and solid understanding of software architecture Proven experience developing high‑performance, real‑time, and multi‑threaded systems Experience with parallel programming and multi‑threading, including synchronization, job systems, and data‑oriented design Experience working with or building game engines (e.g. Unreal, Unity, or proprietary/in‑house engines) Strong understanding of 3D engine architecture and various systems Solid grasp of mathematics for 3D applications – Linear Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, and Trigonometry Understanding of software development life cycle, software engineering methodologies and practices, and software quality assurance concepts Bonus Experience with graphics APIs (Vulkan, Direct3D 12, Metal, etc.) is a strong plus Experience with C# and scripting systems Experience developing simulation or robotics software Contributions to open-source engine or graphics projects Passion for AI, physics, or the intersection of robotics and interactive 3D environments Seniority level Mid‑Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Engineering and Information Technology Industries Computer Games Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Lucky Robots by 2x #J-18808-Ljbffr
