What You Will Do As a Control Systems Engineer, the focus of this position is substantial software PLC/HMI/SCADA Control System design & development with a very good understanding of industrial control systems electrical design elements. The control system electrical detail design implementation is performed by other specialist staff and is not the focus of this position. Work within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the full design and development lifecycle of control system solutions for Cell Therapy manufacturing equipment. Create software design and verification documentation. Program industrial control system components (including PLC, HMI, SCADA, Edge, DCS, Robots, etc), test and debug modules, test beds and final equipment (hands on to get equipment functioning). Install and commission equipment at Invetech and supplier sites in Melbourne. Support equipment verification activities remotely or on-site, including at international client sites. What You’ll Bring Required: Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Software Engineering or related field. 3+ years of industrial control systems project engineering experience. Proven ability to implement industrial control system designs using PLC / Edge / DCS systems and hands‑on experience with Siemens TIA Portal PLC/HMI and Beckhoff PLC systems. Strong documentation skills for processes, sequences, code, and test results. Preferred: Experience developing equipment for batch (e.g. ISA-88) manufacturing industries such as Pharmaceutical or Food & Beverage. Experience developing GMP systems complying with Annex 11 / FDA 21 CFR Part 11.
