Athletics Australia (AA) is the governing body for Athletics in this country. It is a National Sporting Organisation whose major partner is the Australian Sports Commission. AA is responsible for all athletics activity, including high performance, participation, coaching, officiating, juniors, para-athletics, domestic and international competition. Athletics Australia has a critical role in leading, fostering and encouraging participation in athletics in Australia and promoting excellence in performance.
Heading towards the 2024 Paris Olympics & Paralympics, and the 2032 Brisbane Olympics & Paralympics, it is an exciting time to join our Delivery and Partnerships team and Athletics Australia, as we are currently seeking to recruit a Digital Content & Marketing Coordinator.
About the Role
As the Digital Content & Marketing Coordinator at Athletics Australia, you will be responsible for assisting in developing and implementing marketing and content programs, with a focus on Athletics Australia’s expanding digital platforms and stakeholder network.
Experience in a range of digital platforms such as social media, website, eDMs, online forums, fan engagement platforms, registration, and ticketing systems. Maintaining data and analysing trends and opportunities to engage and grow our sport, and to help us stay connected to our passionate Athletics fans.
Your core duties will include;
- Contribute to AA’s media and communication content plan.
- Assist in the development, execution, and evaluation of a range of multi-channel marketing campaigns.
- Create interesting and shareable content pieces from AA events and activities that help build the profile of athletes and the sport.
- Ensure all digital content is on-brand and consistent, including updating event logos, creation of marketing collateral, plus other organisation-wide design requirements in line with AA and partner brand guidelines.
- Assist in real time reporting on athletics competitions for the purpose of AA’s owned channels and external media.
- This position will require some domestic travel, after hours and weekend work.
What we are looking for;
You will have a deep understanding of the value of sport, you will understand the nuances, appeal, the good stories, the quirky stories, the relatable and the fun stuff. As a content and marketing whiz, you will be well placed to inspire greater connection within the athletics community and broader sporting community via multiple channels, such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and eDMs. Your passion for sport and athletics will shine, and your social media know-how will drive growth and engagement. Bringing your sense of creativity to develop and grow AA’s social media presence and awareness of current trends across the market.
Ideally you will have:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Marketing or Communications, or other related field.
- Subject matter knowledge of digital marketing and a strong understanding of the social media landscape.
- Experience in creating content for websites and other digital and traditional platforms, including writing, photography, and videography.
- Good understanding of the sporting landscape
- Experience in working with, and creating digital and social media assets, for both organic and paid campaigns.
- A keen commitment to clean sport and abiding by AA’s National Integrity Framework suite of policies including the Australian National Anti-doping Policy, Safeguarding Children and Young Persons Policy, and Code of Conduct.
- Hold and maintain a valid Working with Children Check and (or ability to hold) Police Check.
