How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne

As the Duty Supervisor at Melbourne City Baths, you are responsible for the delivery of our day-to-day facility experience. You will be the first point of contact to provide support for all staff on shift and will manage the response to all incidents, including emergency control.

The Duty Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the standards of service and safety throughout facility operating hours and escalating all complex matters to the leadership team as required.

Selection Criteria

We are looking for a dedicated individual, who will champion our service and safety standards. You’ve ideally worked in a similar role previously or are able to demonstrate that you are a superstar when it comes to operations and problem solving. You’re cool as a cucumber when dealing with heated situations - whether it’s a customer complaint or emergency evacuation. 

If successful you may also be offered an additional role to cover Guest experience officer and lifeguard shift, a different hourly rate will apply.

This role works across nights, weekends and early mornings availability across these days and times is essential. 

As a part of this role, you must have the following (or willingness to obtain) prior to appointment

• First Aid HLTAID009, HLTAID010, HLTAID011
• Pool Lifeguard (including CPR HLTAID00) SISCAQU002, SISCAQU006, SISCAQU007
• Working with Children Check (required)
• Aquatic Technical Operator

Additionally you will have …

• Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence. This includes a personal commitment to ensuring the team embraces EO and diversity principles 
•  Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, including ability to lead, develop and motivate without direct reporting lines. 
• Ability to learn and operate new software, including but not limited to PerfectGym and MyWellness. 

The following selection criteria while not essential will be highly regarded: 

• HSR initial OHS training course (5 day) Certificate IV in Work Place Training & Assessment 
• AustSwim Certificate or equivalent 
• Certificate 3 and 4 in Fitness 
• Conflict Resolution Training
