Job Description:

We are seeking a high performing Executive Level 2 officer to lead the Financial Strategy and Portfolio Liaison Section in the Chief Finance Officer Branch.In this position you will be responsible for providing services to the Executive Board and Treasury Ministers through but not limited to:

[ads1] Job Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate Commonwealth Budget processes for the Treasury portfolio, including preparing Budget Submissions and Portfolio Budget Statements.
  • Leading and managing the work activity of a small team.
  • Providing advice to the Executive on managing Treasury’s budget though the development of strategic financial products and analysis and monthly reporting.
  • Working in partnership with line areas to provide budget and financial management advice and support.
  • Manage relationships with portfolio entities.
Job Requirements:
  • A detailed knowledge of budget management, including internal budgets and the Commonwealth Budget process.
  • Experience in leading teams, particularly in times of change, and developing staff.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and an ability to communicate effectively and confidently.
  • Commitment to client services and highly developed interpersonal skills to build relationships.
  • A professional accounting qualification is highly desirable
