The Opportunity
As an SMGB Area Manager you will be part of an iconic brand reinforcing your reputation as an Inspirational Retail Leader by running top-performing teams across multiple stores. You'll have an opportunity to play an important role in a successful and growing organisation that has a national footprint, where you will be working with passionate and talented colleagues and will be offered real career growth and a challenging, rewarding environment.
Reporting to the Group Operations Manager your responsibilities will be as follows but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible to manage and assume overall responsibility for the success of your stores by directing all operational aspects of each store and driving sales whilst minimizing cost.
- Working closely with Store Managers and their staff to ensure stores are maintained at the highest possible standards, being well organised, effective training and development programs in place for the staff, maintain strong and open communication and ensuring stores are properly merchandised.
- Setting out of sales and operations goals to the teams and overseeing performance towards achievement of goals and extend support when and where necessary to achieve desired results.
- Leading Wholesale Smokemart business line in your area, where focus is on:
- Building new wholesale customers
- Work with wholesale stores for canvassing – pre-existing & new customers
- B2B and B2C sales focussed
- Maintain and grow wholesale business in your area
- Manage and maintain safety culture within stores and respond immediately to any safety or security concerns within your SMGB sites.
The Successful Candidate Will Possess
- Experience working in a senior leadership role within retail sector as an Area Manager or Senior Manager is preferred.
- In depth understanding of the retail market so that they can maintain competitive awareness and plan accordingly to maintain business advantage.
- Strong working knowledge in stock control, invoicing and financial management.
- Passion and drive to increase sales both within retail and wholesale.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to engage and build relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to lead, manage and motivate team members to achieve set business goals.
- Strong time management and organisation skills.
