The Organization
The company is a leading global OEM of specialised construction equipment, supplying to the construction, mining, and tunnelling industries. They have a strong reputation for delivering effective and dependable equipment backed up with high levels of after-sales service and support. Due to strong and steady growth, a brand-new role has been created within the Finance Team to support the CFO/Head of Finance. The Position
The position has two potential candidate types:
- The first, a Senior Accountant position for a candidate who has acquired the relevant skills and experience and can operate at the 'Management Accountant' level.
- The second, as an Assistant Accountant, suitable for a candidate with the right qualifications and some experience, but still in the development stage of their accounting career.
The position covers the following responsibilities:
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, and assist with monthly and annual reporting.
- Manage daily accounting operations, including cash forecasting and accounts payable/receivable.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
- Oversee bank reconciliations and general ledger transactions.
- Support financial audits and maintain internal controls.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance financial processes and controls.
- Handle payroll processing and government reporting requirements.
- Perform daily data entry for sales orders and creditor invoices.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel skills are highly regarded.
- Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of tax regulations, financial compliance, and payroll processes (ADP experience is a plus).
- Hands-on team player with leadership experience and strong organisational skills.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and an excellent communicator.
- CPA or equivalent certification is highly regarded.
