University Professorship for Theoretical and Physical Chemistry

We are looking for a highly qualified person with a proven outstanding scientific track record in experimental physical chemistry. The ideal candidate has extensive specialist knowledge in chemistry, which is essential for the further development of physical-chemical concepts through independent and collaborative experimental research. The subject of physical chemistry is expected to be represented in its entire range in research and teaching, from bachelor's and master's degree programs to doctoral supervision. Teaching content should be conveyed in a technically and didactically competent manner. In addition, proven experience in the successful acquisition of third-party funding (in competitive procedures) and the ability to conduct independent and sustainable research in this field is essential. A meaningful addition and/or expansion of existing research fields is desirable.
The successful candidate is expected to actively participate in interdisciplinary collaboration within our institutes and to proactively contribute to strengthening the interdisciplinary initiatives in the Fields of Expertise "Advanced Material Science" and/or "Human and Biotechnology" at TU Graz as well as in the NAWI Graz cooperation.
Employment requirements- Completed university degree (MSc, Diploma) in Chemistry (or a related subject), completed doctorate in Chemistry (or a related subject).
- Proven excellent scientific research achievements.
- Excellence in teaching (proven by a habilitation or equivalent achievements) for BSc, MSc or doctoral level.
- Experience in the acquisition and implementation of third-party funded projects from competitive procedures.
- Management and leadership skills (strategy, human resources and process development).
- Proven academic and research qualifications (publications in high-level peer-reviewed journals, invited presentations at international conferences, awards, peer recognition).
- Expertise in the application of spectroscopic methods in research.
- Proven ability to teach and represent the subject of physical chemistry across its entire spectrum.
- Proven successful scientific cooperation and willingness to collaborate within and outside the university.
- Proven experience in leading a working group and as a mentor.
- Very good written and spoken English and German skills in order to represent research and teaching in the German-language Bachelor's degree program in "Chemistry" as well as in the English-language Master's and doctoral programs at TU Graz.

- Your research concept (5 pages max.) with a description of planned future activities and collaborations with research groups at TU Graz
- Your teaching concept (2 pages max.) as well as any teaching evaluations or teaching certificates
- A concept (2 pages max.) for the strategic orientation and development of your future team
The relocation of the center of life (main residence) to the greater Graz area is required.
Adequate language skills in German and English are expected.
