Queensland Churches Together General Secretary

Queensland Churches Together is seeking an exceptional individual to serve as the General Secretary, leading the organisation's strategic direction and representing the collective voice of churches across the state. This full-time role is based in Milton, Queensland and offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the faith community.

What you'll be doing

  1. Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for Queensland Churches Together, ensuring the organisation effectively advocates for and supports its member churches.
  2. Serve as the primary spokesperson and representative for Queensland Churches Together, liaising with government, media, and other stakeholders.
  3. Oversee the day-to-day management and operations of the organisation, including budgeting, resource allocation, and staff leadership.
  4. Foster collaboration and unity among the diverse member churches, facilitating meaningful dialogue and joint initiatives.
  5. Develop and implement programs, events, and services that address the needs and priorities of the Queensland faith community.
  6. Ensure Queensland Churches Together remains relevant, responsive, and aligned with the evolving needs of its stakeholders.

What we're looking for

  1. A committed church member, ordained or lay, of one of the member churches of QCT, or a church participating in Qld Heads of Churches.
  2. Theologically qualified with a demonstrated commitment to Ecumenism.
  3. Extensive experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within a non-profit, faith-based, or community-focused organisation.
  4. Proven track record of strategic planning, organisational management, and stakeholder engagement.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the organisation effectively to diverse audiences.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith and a deep understanding of the Queensland churches and their diverse needs.
  7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex issues and find practical solutions.
  8. Proven ability to foster collaboration, build consensus, and lead teams to achieve shared goals.
