About the Role
The Manager Planning and Impact Assessment is accountable to the Director Sustainable Development, Policy and Systems for the strategic and operational leadership of the Planning and Impact Assessment Branch. The incumbent is responsible for managing the EPA's interaction with the South Australian planning system, including the assessment of potential environmental risks associated with development applications referred to the EPA in accordance with the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and any proposed changes to planning instruments (including the Planning and Design Code).
The Manager Planning and Impact Assessment plays a key role in the organisation by providing leadership and expertise that ensures the EPA's input and influence on South Australia's planning system considers the objects of the Environment Protection Act 1993, s25, general environmental duty, relevant environment protection policies, and the state's waste management strategy in a strategic, credible manner.
About Us
The EPA is South Australia's independent environment protection regulator. The organisation works to protect, restore and improve the environment through the risk-based regulation of pollution, waste, noise and radiation. The EPA works closely with industry, the community and government to protect the unique natural environment while supporting economic growth and improving wellbeing. The EPA is responsible for the administration of the Environment Protection Act 1993 and the Radiation Protection and Control Act 2021 and also exercises responsibilities under other South Australian planning and environmental legislation.

Desirable Qualifications
- Degree in planning, science, engineering, natural resources or equivalent. (Essential for PO stream classification)
- Postgraduate qualification in planning or environmental management.
Remuneration
MAS3 ($127,859) or PO5 ($124,449- $130,253 per annum) + 11.5% super added to your choice of super fund.
