Minderoo's Effective Philanthropy Enabler drives the foundation strategy and vision through a holistic, systems-thinking approach. Develops long-term relationships with our philanthropic peers, deploys impact investments and sets and holds the central standards for impact-related activities, impact measurement, partnerships, data and behavioural insights. Effective Philanthropy plays a vital role in providing thought leadership to realise the 2030 Strategy's ambitions through its focus on ensuring a targeted and cohesive approach to philanthropy that amplifies our overall impact.
Job DescriptionThe Director Impact & Insights will serve as a key member of the Effective Philanthropy's leadership team and will contribute to advancing Minderoo's mission by role modelling collaboration, value alignment, best practice and an impact focus outcome orientation. Responsible for guiding Minderoo's strategic planning, overseeing measurement, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. The role will create and support a high performing team working productively and efficiently. Collaborating closely with our Focus & Enabler areas and Corporate Services as part of our matrix structure, championing our One Minderoo Culture.
Your day to day will include:
- Lead efforts to support ongoing strategy development with a key focus on reflection and adaptation, ensuring alignment with Minderoo's 2030 strategy priorities.
- Driving the strategic development and execution of Minderoo's approach to impact measurement, learning and adaption.
- Leading the implementation of the annual planning and project approval processes.
- Leading a high performing, culturally thriving team to implement and augment learning and insights responsibilities to continuously improve outcomes.
- Driving cross portfolio collaboration required to deliver timely, insightful reporting and compelling storytelling tailored to a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Developing and delivering training programs, workshops and resources to enhance the capacity for effective systems-led strategy and learning practices.
- Overseeing the successful implementation of our impact measurement software and work collaboratively to ensure any technical and behavioural challenges are overcome.
- Staying abreast of the latest trends, methodologies and emerging practices in systems-led philanthropic strategy and learning, engaging in sector networks and presenting at events.
The successful candidate will be an inspiring leader who can unite team members and colleagues towards a culture of learning and adaption to maximise impact. In terms of experience, you will be well versed in developing and driving impact measurement, learning and reporting processes in complex organisations. Ideally you will hold a post graduate degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Evaluation or a similar field. A solid background of ten or more years in impact strategy, measurement and learning, with a public profile and strong networks are also preferable.
In addition, you will have:
- Practical experience with impact strategy and learning.
- Strong strategic agility and analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with an ability to balance disciplined execution against strategic priorities.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing the implementation of innovative technology platforms to support learning and insights.
- Ability to guide groups through complex discussions, decision-making processes and problem-solving with clarity, empathy and purpose.
- Confidence in managing conflict, navigating differences and building consensus whilst maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere.
Previous experience implementing an awareness-based systems-change approach would also be hugely beneficial.
