Strategic and Business Excellence Manager / Finance Business Partner

Motherson Lumen Innovations Australia Pty Limited is seeking a full-time Strategic and Business Excellence Manager / Finance Business Partner located in Hallam. This role offers an opportunity for career advancement within the business.

SMR Australia develops and manufactures rear view mirror systems, illumination and imaging optical systems, and advanced surface technologies for the automotive industry. In this role, you will support the EVP and CFO in financial data analysis, reporting, forecasting, M&A activities, presentations for the board, strategy implementation, and various initiatives in support of future business growth.

You will report to the Executive Vice President Operations, South Asia & Japan, and the CFO. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Support the preparation, review, and monitoring of financial performance reporting, forecasting, scenario analysis, benchmarking, and other ad hoc research and analysis as required by management.
  • Provide backup and support to the regional FP&A function in 4 regions when required.
  • Liaise with regional GMs, Finance Managers, and other stakeholders to gather data and information to prepare comprehensive business cases, analysis, and business insights.
  • Mentor and assist with training and management of the back office finance function.
  • Assist with statutory compliance requirements and implementation of group policies while ensuring adherence to the group corporate governance directives.
  • Present financial performance, analytics, and insights in a concise and clear manner with use of skilfully crafted data visualisations, including creating presentations for the Executive Team and for the Board.
  • Support EVP in implementation, driving, and tracking of various strategic initiatives across the business units.
  • Assist with M&As activities and special projects by providing financial and commercial deal insights, financial models, scenarios, and analysis.
  • Support planning, execution, and delivery of the acquisition-related projects, including data review and analysis, coordination of internal teams, and liaison with various stakeholders as required.
  • Assist with successful integration of new acquisitions, management of PMI plans, and post-merger support for all key stakeholders.

The successful applicant will have the following qualifications & skills:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
  • Understanding of Financial Statements, as well as key accounting and financial concepts.
  • Strong Analytical and Research Skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to identify and drive performance metrics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to handle multiple workstreams and tight deadlines.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions and post-merger integration activities.
  • 5-8 years experience in similar roles.
  • Experience in Big 4 accounting firms (PWC/EY) would be an advantage.
