Senior IT Technical Officer

Senior IT Technical Officer (NV1 Cleared)

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Technical Officer with team leading skills for a Permanent (Full Time) role in a Defence organisation based in Adelaide. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Windows environments with some Linux exposure and expertise in virtualisation technologies.

Location: Adelaide - Not Open for remote.

Security Clearance: Must be an Australian citizen with minimum NV1 clearance required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of 3 - 4 technical officers.
  • Support and maintain engineering and test environments.
  • Perform troubleshooting and system administration as needed.
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy updates and virtualisation technologies.
  • Work with suppliers, customers and internal teams.
  • Maintain change management and documentation.

Essential Skills & Experience:
  • ICT System Administration, including troubleshooting and corrective actions.
  • Expertise in virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Strong Windows administration skills with some Linux exposure.
  • Leadership experience in managing small teams.
  • Proficiency in Active Directory and Group Policy updates.
  • Good communication skills and experience in technical documentation.
  • Understanding of change management principles.
  • Minimum NV1 security clearance.

Highly Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in Defence or secure environments.
  • Familiarity with test and integration systems.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes.

This is a great opportunity for an IT professional with technical expertise and leadership skills to contribute to a critical Defence environment.
