About the Role:
We're seeking an experienced PDM Project Manager to lead the implementation, optimisation, and ongoing management of our SolidWorks PDM system. In this role, you'll drive system setup, streamline engineering and drafting design processes, and ensure seamless adoption across our Australian and US operations. This position will focus on configuring SolidWorks PDM, managing workflows, and ensuring seamless integration of CAD BOM data to our ERP system.

You'll be responsible for mapping current workflow processes and leading the implementation of PDM to enhance global collaboration and data management. Post-implementation, you will oversee system administration and provide ongoing support and training to ensure long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process Mapping & Optimisation: Analyse, document, and enhance existing data management processes to improve efficiency and collaboration. Establish implementation methodology and standards for PDM system.
• PDM Implementation: Lead the structured deployment of SolidWorks PDM. Configure and manage workflows, variables, BOMs, data cards, serialization, folder structures, and data migration. Optimise and maintain the common parts library.
• Change Management: Lead user adoption efforts, ensuring smooth transition and minimal disruption during system rollout.
• Establish best practices: Promote consistency, robustness, and data reliability. Act as the Configuration Manager for documentation within PDM.
• Systems Integration: Automate and integrate SolidWorks outputs. Assist Engineering Management in developing and maintaining consistent outputs.
• Training and Support: Coordinate training for PDM users and admins.
• Project Oversight: Identify risks, maintain project documentation, and track deliverables to ensure measurable outcomes.
• Ongoing System Administration: Manage and optimize the SolidWorks PDM system, ensuring it meets evolving business needs. Resolve and assist users with PDM related productivity issues. Coordinate with the IT manager for implementation of PDM and CAD system software upgrades.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven Experience: Demonstrated success in implementing, optimising and managing SolidWorks PDM. Strong knowledge and experience in SolidWorks CAD.
• Process Improvement Expertise: Strong background in workflow mapping and process optimization.
• Project Management: Experience leading system implementation projects, from scoping and configuration to ongoing support post launch.
• Change Leadership: Ability to engage stakeholders and drive adoption of new systems and processes.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical engineering design workflows.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
