Add expected salary to your profile for insights

About the role – Permanent, full-time

As the Senior Leader, Operational Resilience, you will be responsible for leading a small team of Line 1 resilience and business continuity professionals to support, guide and advise stakeholders from across the organisation to understand what resilience and continuity means to them.

You will ensure our resilience and continuity risks are well defined, understood and develop the ‘outside in’ customer focused mindset required by APRA’s new CPS 230 Operational Risk Management standard.

You and your team will provide a crucial link for resilience and continuity expertise enabling connectivity between all elements of the new standard (including operational risk and material service provider management) as well as the broader resilience landscape within the Bank, such as disaster recovery, cyber response and technology major incident management.

You and your team will ensure both Critical Operations and the broader organisation are well prepared to respond to and recover from disruption by facilitating workshops, conducting business impact assessments, preparing training sessions and leading plausible disruption tests/exercises.

Cultivation of strong stakeholder relationships at all levels of the organisation is crucial to your success in this role alongside demonstrated leadership capabilities.

This role reports to the Head of Risk and Compliance (Operations) within the Operations Division but provides enterprise level Line 1 support in partnership with our Line 2 Operational Risk and Resilience Team.

Location

Whilst our primary office locations are across Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Toowoomba, we are pleased to be able to consider applications from employees within Australia for this role. We also encourage you to put thought into how the work may be undertaken given your location and what support you may require.

About you

The ideal candidate will have a proven aptitude for effective people and stakeholder management, with the ability to successfully lead and develop teams.

Ideally, you will bring a minimum of 5 years’ experience within business continuity and/or operational resilience or a related field, alongside in-depth knowledge of industry standards and best practices.

Self-motivated and organised, you manage your time and workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

With a strategic mindset, you will be able to see the bigger picture and understand how all areas of the business must come together to implement relevant prudential standards. Additionally, you know how to effectively build relationships with our subject matter experts (SMEs) to leverage their knowledge and enhance the organisation’s resilience maturity.
