We are in search of a talented Director of People & Culture to be part of the pre-opening team at Mandarin Oriental, Vienna, which is scheduled to welcome guests in Summer 2024.
Mandarin Oriental, Vienna, housed in a historic building, will offer 151 guestrooms and suites encircling a central courtyard, with amenities including a restaurant, bar, outdoor garden, Spa at Mandarin Oriental, fitness center, and versatile event spaces. Additionally, the property will feature 17 exclusive Residences on the top floors, providing luxurious living spaces with access to top-notch services and facilities.
As the Director of People & Culture, you will collaborate closely with the General Manager and Leadership team to develop and implement P&C strategies aligned with the business objectives. Your role will involve building a strong People & Culture Team capable of providing HR solutions that enhance the organizational culture, attract talents, and drive employee engagement.
The Director of People & Culture will have the following responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute P&C strategies to support daily operations, ensuring excellent guest services, staff productivity, and safety.
- Engage in community initiatives and enhance colleague development through coaching and mentoring.
- Collaborate with the Senior Management team to implement organizational structures and programs supporting business needs.
- Enhance tools and processes in recruitment, learning & development, performance management, and talent retention.
- Develop a talent acquisition strategy considering local dynamics and retention of key staff.
- Define and communicate relevant HR metrics to measure the impact of programs and services.
- Stay updated on industry trends, innovations, and ensure compliance with labor laws.
- Drive continuous improvement within the organization and provide structured training and development opportunities.
- Optimize Human Resources expenses in alignment with financial goals.
What are we looking for?
- Extensive HR experience in Hospitality, preferably in Luxury Hotels.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with senior management effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in German and English, along with proficiency in data analysis.
- Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and understand Austrian legislation and payroll systems.
