About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Finance to join our pre-opening team at Mandarin Oriental, Vienna. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance and leadership to ensure the successful launch of our new hotel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Develop and deliver accurate and timely financial reports to support management decision-making.
    • Establish and maintain internal financial controls to ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards.
  • Financial Operations
    • Oversee the accounting department to ensure optimal efficiency of financial operations.
    • Manage the preparation of financial reports, ledger reviews, and forecasts according to established schedules.
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead and develop the Finance team to ensure they have the necessary skills and expertise to support the hotel's financial operations.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Strategic Planning
    • Assist management in the capital planning process by providing ROI information and coordinating the development of the Annual Budget and Monthly Forecasts.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in hospitality accounting operations, preferably in the luxury sector.
  • Effective management, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to generate all financial reports, including profit & loss statements, income statements, etc.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and proficiency in systems such as Opera, Sun, Delphi, Hyperion, and Micros System.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and German, with strong presentation skills.
