Principal Investment Officer

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Investment Officer to join our Europe Infrastructure team at the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and executing equity and mezzanine investments in the region, with a focus on infrastructure and energy sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement equity strategies and investment themes to grow IFC's equity and mezzanine business in the region.
- Lead and participate in business development activities, including sourcing and executing equity and mezzanine transactions.
- Take leadership and responsibility for high-value and complex equity investments, including exit strategy formulation.
- Ensure IFC delivers value creation at investee companies and provides expertise and guidance to teams managing smaller equity investments.
- Support deal teams and management to devise and execute equity sales, ensuring consistency with portfolio strategy.
- Engage in mentoring and coaching of junior staff and ensure quality control of work products.
- 15+ years of relevant work experience in equity and mezzanine investments, with a focus on infrastructure and energy sectors.
- A Master's degree or equivalent professional qualification in finance or business.
- Commitment to the World Bank Group and IFC's mission, strategy, and values.
- Strong network of contacts among companies in infrastructure and energy sectors, private equity, and institutional investors.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and openness to feedback.
- Ability to develop innovative solutions and challenge the status quo to build the business.
- Recognized as a team player, strategic thinker, and thought leader.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, with fluency in English essential.
- Ability to collaborate closely with the World Bank and other development finance institutions, commercial financial institutions, and institutional investors.
