Duration of employment: 5 month/s

Extent of Employment: 40 hours/week

Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: Univ Prof. (KV) Gastprof. with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

The Visiting Professorship covers a vacancy in the field of comparative policy analysis and qualitative methods.

Teaching is expected at the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral level in the field of qualitative methods and comparative policy analysis (with particular focus on digital transformations).

The Visiting Professorship entails teaching duties of 8 hours per week.

Profile:

  • Doctoral degree in Political Science, and postdoctoral experience at a university or other research institution (Austrian or equivalent international academic degree in the relevant field)
  • Ability to teach in both German and English
  • Habilitation (venia docendi) or equivalent international qualification in the relevant field is desirable
  • Experience with teaching qualitative methods at university level (ideally in German)
  • Outstanding research record and excellent fieldspecific scientific publications, particularly also in the area of qualitative methods; contributions to methodological innovation (e.g. visual analysis, new technologies) will be considered favourably
  • Outstanding educational and didactic skills, experience teaching at the university level in the field of comparative policy analyses and qualitative methods, willingness and ability to supervise theses as well as furthering the work of junior academic colleagues
  • Good social skills
