The research department "linguistics" at the Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage

(ACDH-CH), a research department of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW), Austria's leading non
- university research institution, is seeking a

MASTER STUDENT POSITION (FM)
(part-time, 10h per week)

As a master student, you will work at the project "Dictionary of Bavarian Dialects in Austria (WBÖ)" and support

the ongoing lexicographical work there.

Your tasks:

  • Supporting in the administration and maintenance of the WBÖ database
  • Research and acquisition of literature
  • Supporting preparatory work for the lexicographical work
  • Supporting formal correction work

Your profile:

  • You are currently studying for a diploma, MA or teaching degree in German studies / German Philology
or linguistics (with a focus on German studies)

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: dialectology, variation linguistics, lexicography, corpus
linguistics

  • Confident use of standard office software and computers in general, secure spelling
  • Openmindedness towards the latest developments in the field of digital humanities

Optional assets:

  • Experience in data management, XML, web technologies
  • Excellent proficiency of English
- (East Upper German) dialect skills

We offer an annual gross salary of € 7.748,90, according to the collective agreement of the Austrian Academy of

Sciences. The employment will start at the earliest in February 2023 and run initially for 1 year, with the option to

extend.
