Overview / Role Objective The Product Sales Manager Optics (m/f/d) plays a crucial role in leading and facilitating collaborative sales initiatives to enhance Ansys' presence in the optical and photonics domain with offerings from the Ansys Optical Portfolio (Lumerical, Speos, Zemax). The accomplished Product Sales Manager will oversee the profitability and sustained growth of this specific product set for the organization. As a specialist in the designated product line, the Product Sales Manager is tasked with meeting a direct sales quota for that product line and supporting the overall success of the product line within an overlay structure. Primary Responsibilities
  • Conducts product sales activities to drive new/renewal business for the Ansys Optical Portfolio (Lumerical, Speos, Zemax) to meet or exceed designated product and service revenue targets.
  • Collaborates with field and enterprise sales teams within Ansys and Channel partners to develop and execute proactive strategies that drive product and service revenue as part of an overarching account strategy. This involves positioning solutions with significant customer value through combining the optical portfolio with complementary Ansys products.
  • Actively contributes to all stages of the sales process.
  • Facilitates communication with the sales and technical teams to provide updates on product capabilities, success stories, and effective strategies.
  • Establishes, nurtures, and manages business relationships with existing and potential customers to generate new business for the organization's products and services, focusing primarily on major Ansys clients in Germany across various industries.
  • Participates in industry exhibitions and conferences.
  • Develops and delivers advanced solution presentations tailored to address identified customer needs using the company's products and services. Identifies Ansys' strengths and positions its products and services as superior to competing offerings.
  • Coordinates and oversees technical support for demonstrations, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), evaluation support, training, etc.
  • Collaborates with team members to craft clear and compelling written proposals, quotations, and value propositions for current and prospective customers.
  • Provides customer feedback to product development and marketing teams.
Minimum Requirements and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, business, or related field with 4+ years of sales or consulting experience in selling engineering/technology applications with a proven track record of success, OR 8+ years of sales or consulting experience in selling engineering/technology applications with a proven track record of success.
  • Proficiency in engineering analysis and technology.
  • Background in Optical Design applications is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently, cross-functionally, and within different hierarchies in the organization.
  • Capability to promote collaboration and coordination with personnel spread across multiple global locations.
  • Fluency in English and German.
  • Travel requirement: up to 50%.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Familiarity with the company's products/services and pricing practices is advantageous.
  • Understanding of the market positioning of products in the optical design and simulation domain.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to identify appropriate solutions for customers.
  • Proficiency in networking via in-person interactions or various digital communication channels.
