Project Overview

Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.

Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum.

As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day.

Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2.

Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.

About the Opportunity

As a Graduate HSE Representative at Bechtel you will assist in supporting all elements of the Health Safety and Environment (HSE) programs, system and processes.

This opportunity provides an extensive background in all facets of HSE execution on a multi-billion dollar construction site, interface with working an a major hazard facility, working with a diverse and inclusive team of HSE and Construction professionals all striving to working safely to construct a facility that will leave a legacy for both Bechtel and Woodside Energy for years to come.

Key Responsibilities

• Supports Integration of HSE requirements into project planning, permitting, design, construction, commissioning and startup, and operations.
• Performs site assessments and inspections to identify site conditions and develop mitigation and sustainability strategies to save the personnel, environment and local communities.
• Provides technical assistance within HSE teams and to other project groups regarding permitting, risk assessment, plan preparation, and HSE program execution.
• Assists in the implementation of the project Health Safety and Environment Plan and associated plans and procedures.
• Participates in emergency response, investigation and resolution of HSE incidents.
• Assists with HSE monitoring, sampling, and inspections to confirm compliance with permits and project requirements and commitments.
• Assists and supports HSE training for project/facility employees and visitors.
• Participates in meetings with customers, project/facility team members, and contractors and subcontractors to advise them of HSE requirements that may affect their work.
• Performs and supports data management, trend analysis, and report preparation and reviews.
• Assists other team members in HSE program execution, inclusive of safety and health.
• Other duties assigned by the Project Environmental Lead or HSE Manager to provide compliance support to the HSE Management Plan and Processes.

About You

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) from an accredited university or college in an applicable technical discipline such as environmental science, ecology, biology, natural resources, or related disciplines.
• Right to live and work in Australia without employer sponsorship
• Prior internship experience is advantageous
• Ability to research and comprehend organisational and regulatory requirements.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel &/or Power BI tools
• Basic understanding of technical processes, interpretation of engineering drawings, and project management practices associated with engineering and construction projects
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated teamwork skills
• Demonstrated levels of initiative and engagement via positions of leadership in academic, sports and/or extracurricular activities
