Group Regulatory Compliance is responsible for steering regulatory compliance risks acc. to - 39 Abs. 6 BWG. The unit regularly monitors compliance risks in Erste Group's processes using internal and external control frameworks.

Regulatory compliance risks are regularly assessed in a holistic risk assessment and reported to both internal management and external stakeholders.

When necessary - the unit initiates and tracks mitigation measures to ensure a prudent management of compliance risks.

Your Tasks:


As head of the regulatory compliance team, you are responsible for ensuring the development and maintenance of an effective regulatory compliance function in accordance with BWG.

You and your team are directly responsible for assessing regulatory compliance risks in Erste Bank Austria and Erste Group Bank AG.

In addition, you act as the group-wide responsible function for setting the standards of regulatory compliance risks in Erste Group overall.


  • Leading and forming a team of regulatory compliance experts with the aim to steer regulatory compliance risks across Erste Group and its group members
  • Managing, maintaining and further developing the regulatory compliance function acc. to 39 Abs. 6 BWG by monitoring, risk assessment and reporting programmes
  • Actively managing the team's interfaces within EBOe and EGB as well as with groupwide counterparts (business, risk, internal audit)
  • Managing the Group Regulatory Compliance function and collaborating with all colleagues in the regulatory compliance functions of Erste group members
  • Regularly informing Compliance Management about risk developments
  • Acting as business owner in relevant IT developments that ensures an effective management of regulatory compliance risks

Your Background:

  • University degree in law or economics
  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience, of which at least 3 in the area of regulatory compliance or in a senior (strategic) risk management position
  • Leadership experience in leading a high expert team is an asset
  • Approach of working, combined with having sole responsibility of providing deliverables to senior management/third parties
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to prepare independently presentation materials for senior management
  • Fluent in German and English, any CEE language would be an advantage
