POSTDOC POSITION (F/M/X)

_in Prehistoric Archaeology _
(full-time, 40h per week)

research group embarks on a new way of identity research that discusses contextual information on equal footing

with bioarchaeological data. "Prehistoric Identities" emerge from the interaction between humans, animals, plants,

genetic inheritance, as well as foodways, mobility, migration and the experience of being foreign. Case studies

from Austria and neighbouring countries form the foundation of a contextualization of these themes within

European prehistory.

Your tasks:

  • Participation in current research projects of the group
- party funding

  • Assistance in managing the research group
  • Supervision of other team members
  • Editorial assistance of research group publications
  • Maintenance of digital project data

Your profile:

  • A PhD in prehistoric archaeology and/or biological anthropology
  • Experience in/knowledge of later European prehistory, particularly the Central European Bronze and Iron
Ages

  • Familiarity with the methods and debate in interdisciplinary bioarchaeology
  • Ability to participate in international and interdisciplinary cooperations and publications
  • Excellent English language skills (German language skills are an additional advantage)
  • Advanced organisational and computing skills (e.g. image processing, statistics, GIS)
