Area of responsibility:

The position is situated in the area of English Didactics and includes the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Participation in research activities in English Didactics
  • Independent researchwith the aim of completing a doctoral dissertation in English Didactics
  • Participation in teaching and exams, including supervision ofstudents
  • Participation in organisational and administrative tasks

Requirements:

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in thefieldof Teaching English (Staatsexamen or Lehramt mit Unterrichtsfach Englisch, Master of Education in English as a Foreign Language) from a national or internationalhighereducationinstitution
  • Strong interest in research in English didactics and the research foci represented at the department in that area (in particular, didactics of media, literature and/or culture)
  • Interest in international and interdisciplinary research collaborations
  • Very goodcommandof English (Level C2) and German (Level C1)

Desired skills:

  • Experience with the preparation and publication of manuscripts
  • Strong initiative and high motivation to familiarise oneself with methodological and contentrelated research areas
  • Organisational and communication skills
  • Academic teaching experience
  • School teaching experience
  • Relevant experience abroad
  • Experience with the organisation of academic events
  • Experience with the creation and maintenance of websites
