The Department of Government, subunit of the Faculty of Social Sciences, is looking for a university assistant (post doc) in research areas represented at the Department of Government, especially on political representation, party competition, political institutions or political behavior.


Your personal sphere of play

:

Your future position is at the Department of Government, characterized by excellent research in comparative European and Austrian politics. The position is to be filled from September 1, 2024 and is limited to 6 years.

Staff and Students appreciate internationality, outstanding research projects, interdisciplinary cooperation and exchange between colleagues.

Your future tasks

:

  • You develop and strengthen an independent research profile, including internationally visible publications
  • You present your work internationally
  • You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement
  • You publish internationally in leading international journals (SSCI)
  • You supervise students (BA and MA)
  • You participate in the administration of the department

This is part of your personality

:

  • Completed doctoral/PhD studies in Political Science
  • Own research agenda on political representation, party competition, political institutions or political behavior
  • Excellent knowledge of quantitative social science methods in data collection and analysis
  • Internationally visible publication record or advanced manuscripts (revise & resubmit)
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Ability to work in a team
