The Institute of Medical Genetics at the Medical University of Vienna provides clinical genetic diagnoses for Vienna and the surrounding area.

Lead Bioinformatician (M/F/d)

Our offer:

Our lab is currently equipped with the latest technologies, e.g. Nanopore - GridION, bionano saphyr, Illumina - NextSeq2000.

You will participate in various research projects in the field of human genetics, with a competent and highly motivated team in an environment that values personal responsibility and development.


Your qualification:

  • A university degree in Bioinformatics or similar field (PhD)
  • Expertise in Linux and development of workflows (Python/BASH/R/C etc.)
  • Basic understanding of network administration and databases
  • Experience in project management and team leadership is a plus
  • Interest in human genetics

Your tasks:

  • Bioinformatic data analysis and management
  • Project management with a leading function in a small group (approx. 5 people)
  • Authoring scientific publications
- upervision of Master and/or PhD-students

Overview:

  • Full time (40 hours)
  • Starting date as soon as possible
  • Minimum gross salary currently € x annually, postdoc)
