Our client is a leading provider of paediatric therapy services in Melbourne, VIC. They specialise in offering comprehensive therapy programs for children with a range of developmental, sensory, and physical challenges. They multidisciplinary team is dedicated to empowering children and their families to achieve their full potential through evidence-based interventions and compassionate care.

Job Description:

As the Occupational Therapist Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in leading our team of occupational therapists to deliver high-quality therapy services to children and families. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the occupational therapy department, provide clinical leadership and mentorship to therapists, and ensure the highest standards of care and professionalism are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership to the occupational therapy team, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based and client-centred therapy services.
  • Supervise and support a team of occupational therapists, including recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development.
  • Oversee the assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing monitoring of therapy cases, ensuring that therapeutic interventions are tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • Collaborate effectively with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, and educators, to ensure integrated care and holistic support for children and families.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of therapy services provided, implement quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with relevant professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and their families, providing support, education, and guidance throughout the therapy process.
  • Stay abreast of current research, best practices, and developments in the field of paediatric occupational therapy, and facilitate ongoing professional development and learning opportunities for the therapy team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Full registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist, preferably in a pediatric setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership, team management, and clinical supervision.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement
