The Opportunity

Rare chance to join our Northern leadership team to achieve our vision for young people and families to be safe, thriving and have hope for their futures. Whilst this position supports and manages our youth and family therapeutic services, the Northern regional team also encompasses Specialist Family Violence, Out of Home Care programs, Take Two therapeutic services and more.

This role is suitable for applicants who enjoy variety in their work because no two days will ever be the same

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of multidisciplinary professionals in programs areas of adolescent therapeutic support, housing and homelessness programs, family services and evidence-based group work.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, namely members of Berry Street leadership group, DFFH, Family Safety Victoria, North East Child First Alliance, The Orange Door and other child and family services across the Northern region.
  • Monitor and manage funding and service agreements and acquittals to ensure targets are met on a monthly basis.

About you

Our successful applicant will show commitment to working collaboratively to ensure quality outcomes for children, youth and families involved in our programs. In addition, they will have:

  • A minimum Bachelor degree level qualification in Social Work, Psychology, welfare or a related discipline.
  • Previous 3 years of experience in a management role, identifying and managing risks, providing reflective and supportive supervision, monitoring performance and promoting a positive work culture.
  • Coaching skills for optimal performance of the team.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines and regulations and its impact on the child, youth and family services sector.
