St Joseph’s operates across multiple campuses, located in North Melbourne, Geelong, Colac, Ballarat, and a dual engagement virtual learning campus, BlendED The young people who attend have typically experienced one or more significant and complex educational, social, developmental, psychological, health, legal or familial situations which demand unique responses. Such interventions are embedded within the principles of operation which combine education with an understanding of trauma-informed practice.

BlendED, is an innovative online engagement curriculum program that seeks to address the complex needs that young people face when they are struggling to engage outside of the home or with community or education. A Victorian-first education model that combines online individualised learning with in-person wellbeing support. The curriculum is delivered through a mix of virtual live classes and assigned tasks that students can access anytime they like.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

An exciting opportunity exists to lead BlendED at St Joseph’s Special Assistance School, commencing in Term 3, 2024 or later by negotiation.

As Principal, you will have delegated responsibility for the day-to-day management and leadership and any outreach services related to BlendED. You will lead a team of professional and dedicated teaching staff, youth workers and support staff who are committed to providing educational pathways for young people who have been disenfranchised from mainstream education.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced educational leader, who is committed to working in a trauma informed practice model that promotes diversity, safety and inclusion. 

The successful applicant must be a registered teacher in Victoria or be able to gain registration prior to the commencement of the position.

This will be a 5-year fixed term contract position.
